Take a Deep Breath
Hi all my friends foodies, chefs, bar tenders, and waitstaff
Well it’s been three months and I have not left my home and close proximities. I have spent more time than I have ever before staying in one place in my entire life!!!!! It has been fun, frustrating at times, and a lot of food has passed thru my ovens and range. My family has eaten well, and I have been able to use my wonderful wife Marge and my son Jess, and sometimes Maggie the dog as test cases for new foods and processes. Some have been winners, and some have fallen off the culinary highway hopefully never to be seen or tasted again. In baseball if your batting 900, you are the best anyone has ever seen, in food if your serving 90% you’re are a failure as we remember the bad more than we remember the good, sadly so. I still feel great about what I have produced.
As all of you know getting supplies has been a challenge. Supermarket shelves have been empty and suppliers have nothing to ship. Protein prices have gone crazy and I am paying a prime price for choice product at best. To keep my culinary hand going I have been cooking meals for one of the local churches. It's been fun and I have enjoyed the friendships I have made thru feeding at the church. My wife Marge and son Jess have been great kitchen support for me.
I will be posting several pictures of plates, some great foods. If you see anything you would like recipes for do not hesitate to ask on the blog.
For those of you in the food industry, chefs, waitstaff, bar tenders my heart goes out to you. Tough times never last but tough people always do!!!!!!!!!!! I look forward to toasting all of you with a Guinness at my local pub whenever they finally get to safely open. Until then we need to stick together, dream big, be patient, our day will come AGAIN!
Peace
